Brenda's impressive credentials include a Bachelor’s in Nursing, a Master’s in Nursing Administration, and founding pivotal programs like Kupu Care and Pohai Malama Care Center. She also serves as President of Hawaii Palliative and Hospice Care Collaboration and is a board member of Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Recognized with awards like the ATHENA Leadership Award, Brenda fosters teamwork and meaningful partnerships, always guided by Jane Goodall's wisdom: "What you do makes a difference. Shirley S. Dellinger, MHRM
Director of Human Resources & Accounting
Shirley is the heartbeat of our HR and Accounting departments, passionately ensuring that every touchpoint of care makes a difference in our community. With accolades like SHRM National & SHRM Hawaii Member, highest honors in Accounting, and Phi Theta Kappa, Shirley's dedication is unmatched. Jeanene, with her MSN and RN credentials, is a beacon of patient-centered care. Her mission is to enhance the quality of life for those facing serious illnesses through holistic support. Leading teams in Hospice Care, Palliative Care, Volunteer Services, Bereavement, and Adult Residential Care Home, Jeanene's vision aligns perfectly with HiCARE’s mission. Lori Jordan, BA, ACHE
Director of Organizational Excellence & Advancement
Lori's journey from caregiver to leader is a testament to her unwavering commitment to compassionate care. With a rich history of service on various boards (State of Hawaii Hospice and Palliative Care Association, Kokua Mau Board of Directors) and a slew of awards, including the Weinberg Foundation’s AIM For Excellence Award, Lori leads with a heart full of empathy. She heads the Advancement & Communication, Compliance, Engagement Marketing, Facilities, Information Technology, Quality, and Safety teams, ensuring excellence in every facet of our organization. Lynda Dolan, MD
Medical Director
Dr. Dolan is the guiding star of our medical care program, overseeing all medical aspects with a steady hand and a compassionate heart. As a key member of the Interdisciplinary Team, she collaborates seamlessly with attending physicians to address the serious and life-limiting illnesses of our patients. When the attending physician can't meet all the needs, Dr. Dolan steps in to ensure comprehensive care. Her duties include reviewing patient eligibility for services, participating in the development and revision of patient care plans, and serving as the vital link between Hawai‘i Care Choices and the medical community.
Dr. Dolan's journey with Hawai‘i Care Choices began in 1999, and she took on the role of Medical Director in 2009. Since then, she has been the calm in the storm, guiding our team to provide exceptional comfort care for families facing end-of-life challenges. She builds bridges between palliative and hospice professionals and physicians, all while offering unwavering support to families during their most difficult times.
